Yellowstone sits atop a supervolcano, which is the source of its remarkable geothermal activity. Our park is home to more than half of the world’s active geysers, including the iconic Old Faithful. Visitors can witness spectacular eruptions, steaming fumaroles, bubbling mud pots, and colorful hot springs such as the Grand Prismatic Spring.
